Democrats in Texas – and around the country – are in a desperate scramble to play catch up. Their latest ploy is to throw tons of money at telephone scammers, sending out hundreds of thousands of texts a day.
A man in Texas was so upset over the multiple text message from the campaign of U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke that he is sueing the campaign.
A class-action lawsuit filed against the Beto for Texas campaign on behalf of all Texans alleges the group sent text messages to voters without obtaining permission to contact them, therefore violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. He is asking for a whopping $500 per text.
The suit was filed in Northen District of Texas Court and names Collin County resident Sameer Syeed as the plaintiff.
