Democrats Are Ready To Attack The United States

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-CA had an interview yesterday with Axios where he indicated the Democrats have gained enough ground in the House to attack President Trump and launch a number of new witch hunts. When the new Congress meets in January and the Democrats have just a small majority, they will be able to issue subpoenas and launch entire investigations. A new wave of investigations is expected early in the new year.

One of the main areas of concern by Rep. Adam Schiff is “instruments of the state power to punish the press”. The press, which constantly attacks President Trump and prints fake news, is constant issue for the White House. Recently the White House pulled the press credentials for a CNN reporter after he viciously attacked a White House intern. Schiff mentioned he wants investigations into how the White Hose has handled both CNN and The Washington Post.

Schiff also mentioned the President wanted to “raise postal rates on Amazon” which Schiff seems to think is illegal. Jeff Bezos, the founder and CEO of Amazon, also owns The Washington Post.
“This appears to be an effort by the president to use the instruments of state power to punish Jeff Bezos and The Washington Post,” Schiff said during the interview. However, issues of the press with The Washington Post and Amazon with the USPS seem to be completely unrelated.
President Trump has concerns about the USPS being unsustainable on it’s current path. The President has met a number of times with the Postmaster General and asked her to increase shipping rates for companies like Amazon. There is zero indication this was political on the part of trump. Last March, the President  argued in a series of tweets that the online retailer’s “scam” shipping deal with the U.S. Postal Service is costing the agency “billions of dollars.”

Trump continues to have issues with both CNN and The Washington Post.

Trump has long derided the political coverage at the Post, which is fiercely and relentlessly criticial of the White House, as a lobbying tool for Bezos. But he has also feuded specifically with Amazon throughout the year, saying it is taking advantage of taxpayer-subsidized shipping rates.

The U.S. Postal Service has lost money for the past 11 years.
