Hundreds of migrants from the caravan Trump has been warning us about for the past month rushed the US border in an attempt to invade our country. Thankfully Border Patrol agents and American troops were able to protect the intergrity of our border with tear gas. Late Sunday afternoon the US border in San Diego remains closed.
Members of the caravan, estimated to be in the thousands, attempted to violate the fence separating the United States and Mexico. They were fought back with gas launched by the US Border Patrol and American troops. Migrants forced open a small hole in concertina wire on the Mexican side, which is when the United States opened fire with tear gas.
Milenio TV in Mexico showed images of dozens of illegal immigrants attempting to jump the fence by storming it in large numbers. U.S. Border Patrol and U.S. Army helicopter flew overhead, and troops were on foot just beyond the fence in San Diego. The Border Patrol office in San Diego said via Twitter that pedestrian crossings have been suspended at the San Ysidro port of entry at both the East and West facilities. All northbound and southbound traffic was halted.
Over five thousand migrants have been camping out at a sports complex in Tijuana over the past few weeks as members of the caravan grew in numbers. On Sunday they attempted to storm the border at multiple locations.
